Sensitivity study: Impact of reactor model uncertainty on the measurement of sin(2θ13) in the Double Chooz experiment

This paper primarily discusses the results of a sensitivity analysis on the impact of reactor parameters on the ±1σ error of sin(2θ13) = 0.1 in the Double Chooz neutrino experiment and the relevant physical and statistical knowledge. After eight years of data collection, assuming no knowledge of the reactor flux, the value of ±1σFDonly = 1.522, while ±1σFD+ND = 0.0122, and including all previous assumptions, ±1σFDonly = 0.0248, while ±1σFD+ND = 0.0118. Even assuming no knowledge of reactor flux, the second detector provides more accuracy than a single detector relying upon all reactor assumptions.
